Couple's Counseling

Every relationship has seasons—times of closeness and joy, as well as times of distance and conflict. When communication begins to break down, or old patterns start to feel overwhelming, it can be difficult to find your way back to one another. Couples counseling provides a supportive space to reconnect, improve communication, and rediscover the strengths of your relationship.

When should we seek help?

Sometimes couples will tell me they should have come see me six months ago.

"That's okay," I'll say.  "You're here now."

Maybe you feel like you're in a crisis, that doesn't mean it's too late.  And while many couples wait until things feel like a crisis, seeking support earlier can make the process less stressful and more effective. Taking this step now can help you rediscover trust, closeness, and hope together.

Admitting there’s a problem isn’t easy—and it can feel scary—but reaching out for help is a sign of strength, not weakness. Couples counseling provides a safe space to slow down, really hear each other, and begin building healthier ways of connecting.

A Safe and Supportive Space

My approach to couples counseling is rooted in empathy, respect, and hope. I understand how discouraging it can feel when arguments seem to go in circles or when connection feels lost. My goal is to help you and your partner feel understood and supported while guiding you toward healthier, more effective ways of communicating and resolving conflict.

The Gottman Method

I have been fully trained in the Gottman Method, one of the most respected, research-based approaches to couples therapy. The Gottman Method focuses on:

  • Building Friendship and Intimacy – strengthening the emotional connection that forms the foundation of your relationship
  • Managing Conflict Effectively – learning tools to handle disagreements without damaging your bond
  • Creating Shared Meaning – developing a deeper sense of purpose and partnership together

This approach gives couples practical, proven skills to repair past hurts, navigate current struggles, and create a stronger future.

Rebuilding and Moving Forward

Through our work together, you and your partner will learn how to:

  • Communicate more openly and effectively
  • Resolve conflict in ways that strengthen rather than divide
  • Re-establish trust, closeness, and intimacy
  • Build skills that support a long-lasting, thriving relationship

Couples counseling is not about assigning blame—it’s about building a pathway forward. With the right tools and guidance, you can feel hopeful and confident about your relationship’s future.
